Scar & stretch-mark camouflage — what to expect
Stretch marks, scars and skin discolouration are often a small but constant source of self-consciousness. Camouflage tattooing is one way to make them less noticeable. Here is what to know before you decide.
What camouflage tattooing is
It is a precise technique in which we work on the specific area to even out its colour and texture with the surrounding skin. It is used to conceal:
- scars and stretch marks;
- marks left by acne and burns;
- old permanent makeup and old tattoos.
The aim is for the skin to look more even and natural, not “done”. We work towards a natural result.
Two methods: inkless and with pigment
At Skin Revive we offer two different approaches, and they are not the same thing.
Inkless tattooing. No pigment is added. The technique prompts the skin itself to even out the colour and texture of stretch marks and scars. It is often the first choice for fresher, reddish stretch marks.
Camouflage tattooing. A pigment matched precisely to your skin tone is used, so the scar or stretch mark blends with the surrounding skin. It suits areas where the skin has healed and is stable.
Which method is right depends on the type, age, colour and location of the mark. That is why the choice is made together, at a consultation.
Why the consultation comes first
Every procedure at our studio except facial cleansing starts with a consultation. It is not a formality: we look at your skin, discuss what you want to achieve, choose the method and set realistic expectations. That way we plan rather than guess.
What to expect from the result
Results are individual and vary from person to person. They depend on the type and age of the mark, on your skin, and on how you care for it after the procedure. For that reason we give no guarantees and promise nothing we cannot. We will tell you honestly what is achievable in your case.
Who it suits
People who want to feel more at ease with their skin: after pregnancy or a change in weight, after surgery or injury, or when an old tattoo or permanent makeup no longer suits them. If an old tattoo or permanent makeup needs to be removed instead, we also offer laser removal with a Pico laser.
